Say No To Drugs.Be at the 8th Percusounds Festival

It’s in a festive and crowdy ending month of August at the Munplein (Place de la Monnaie) in the center of Brussels that was organized the 8th edition of the three days creative and high in colors, rhythms and dances, from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 August: The Percusounds Festival 2022, gathering no less than 11 groups from around the world.

Welcomed by the organizer team, the booth of the Say No To Drugs Belgium team, managed up by 10 volunteers, was set up near the entrance so all the attendees had the opportunity to visit it, to ask questions about the effects of drugs and receive educative materials.

Among the visitors, a lot of youngsters eager to discover about the drugs, what they are and what they do, parents and families, educators, teachers, health personnel, all showed great interest to the information provided.

Beside the distribution of booklets from the series The Truth About Drugs, some specific educative materials were ordered for their schools, organizations, offices, even by Prevention services from Communes. Many were also interested to have a lecture organized on the drug subject.

The materials were available in French, Dutch and English, so even the tourists could get the data! Also, some young adults nicely proposed to help the volunteers in their Drug prevention activities.

As a summary, 4,150 booklets were distributed, 110 booklet sets, 10 Info kits, 25 DVDs one Educator  Guide (more were ordered) and 60 persons signed the Pledge for a Drug-Free Life.
