After having done on the very popular and friendly radio station Arabel (106.8 FM) a live presentation of the Truth About Drugs campaign developed in Belgium by the Say No To Drugs team, the in-charge of the campaign, Julie, held on February 15, a public conference-debate in the cultural center De Vaartkapoen of the Commune of Molenbeek/Brussels. The conference entitled Find out the Truth About the Drugs was previously announced on Radio Arabel and invitation flyers were distributed in the Molenbeek area. The public attending was composed of parents and youth, teachers, association directors, and some officials. Cyprus away from drugs !

As many parents Stella Esmeralda was aware of the world drug problem but she really realized the danger her teenager children and the youth were facing when she found out that the child of a friend, a teenager, died from drug abuse and that some other teens of the neighborhood were using drugs. From there she took the responsibility to inform as broadly as possible the parents and the youth on the drug dangers. Prevention education in Czech Republic...

Whether in: -a school of Brno with 105 youngsters (14 January), -the city of Prague/Praha – Vaclav Square (25 January), -the center of Pelhrimo (29 January), -the city centrum of Pilsen (1st February), -a school of Praha/Prague (5 February) to 70 children, there were no less than 2200 booklets distributed educating youth and adults on the harmful effects of drugs. The lectures in schools are so successful that now the most often they are yearly done in many of them. In addition, the team of lecturers is regularly opening new schools to drug prevention lectures. In December, the Say No To Drugs Team Belgium (SNTD.Be) wanted to make the Christmas time a real time for Harmony and Happiness in families, away of the drugs. So they set up their drug prevention booth on the Christmas market of Zemst. In this Municipality of the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant, despite a rainy weather the SNTD team was contacted by many persons, including many mothers worrying about the propagation of the drugs in the country and affecting boys and girls. They were also visited by teachers and even a politician, very concerned by the drug problem and sad about the lack of political decision to confront the problem.
