The Secretary-General appoints Ms. Ghada Fathi Waly of Egypt as Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime NEW YORK, 21 November – United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Ghada Fathi Waly of Egypt as the next Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).  Ms. Waly will also serve as Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).  She succeeds Yury Fedotov of the Russian Federation to whom the Secretary-General is grateful for his dedicated service to the Organization. In Kharkiv (Ukraine)

Two representatives of FDFE, Robert and Christian, were invited in Kharkiv (City founded in 1654, the former capital of Ukraine, the second-largest city and a major cultural, scientific, educational, transport and industrial center of Ukraine ) to do a series of lectures to enlighten the audience on the reality of the drugs . On November 13th, Robert did a presentation on the harmfulness of drugs at the Institute of Neurology, Psychiatry and Narcology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine in front of 150 professors, doctors, nurses and medical students. This was very successful and this ended up by a distribution of the booklet The Truth About Drugs in Ukrainian, that was appreciated. We find again our Say No To Drug France President Catherine, helped by Olivier, in Algeria and more precisely in the beautiful city of Sidi Bel Abbes. The purpose of this invitation was to held on November 5th, 2019, a Conference organized by the Director of the Central Library of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and by the Head of the Department of the Social Sciences of the University Djilali Liabes on: New Approaches to Prevention Addiction. Some 60 persons attended her Conference and among them Professors and Students of the Department of Psychology and also members of Social services of the city. The Conference on the Rights of the Child will take part in the Parliament on 20 November  The European Parliament will organise a conference on 20 November to mark the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The conference will consider progress over the past three decades and reflect on the challenges that new generations face in a global and digital world. On Saturday October 5th and Sunday October 6th, was held in the City hall of Vienna the Volunteers’ Fair. So, on Saturday the Say No To Drug (SNTD) Team of Vienna held an event in front of the City Hall of Vienna. This was an opportunity to inform people and provide them with the right information, either personally or through the booklets The Truth About Drugs they were handing out, on the too often untold harmful effects of drug use. The team of SNTD volunteers set up their blue tent in front of the beautiful « rathaus » building. And it was a great action because not only they were able to provide factual data on drugs to a hundred of people to their great satisfaction but they also find some people who decided to help...
