Slovakia: A challenge to drugs

An active member of the anti-drug  campaign The Truth About Drugs in Slovakia, Peter Remper, is highly specialized in delivering lectures every week the year around in the different schools of the country. He did the sum of his different lectures, TV and radio interviews, educating the youth on the drug dangers in the schools of the 68 districts of Slovakia and the results are: 5200 lectures were delivered attended by more than 177 313 primary school pupils and secondary school students. Among these youth 73 795 of them pledged to carry-on the message to their friends and family to protect them against the drugs. In Europe: EMCDDA      1.3 million of European people are high-risk opiod users. The latest data show that heroin use still accounts for the majority, around 80%, of new opiod related treatment demands in Europe. 630 000 opioid users received substitution treatment in 2015. Europe’s overdose deaths rose for the third consecutive year in 2015 to 8,441 and 81 percent of them were related to opioids, which include heroin*. Here after a Summary.    ASIA-PACIFIC FORUM AGAINST DRUGS 2017 « Together, A Drug-Free World for our Children” The National Council Against Drug Abuse (NCADA) of Singapore organised the 2nd Asia-Pacific Forum Against Drugs (APFAD). The event brought together local and foreign delegates from government agencies, non-government organisations (NGOs) and civil society groups, to network and discuss how to better counter the continuing global calls for drug liberalization and the lobbying of pro-drug groups. 2. France – Anti-Drug Campaign 12-15 August 2017...

In August the volunteers of the association Dites Non à la Drogue France (Say No To Drugs -SNTD) went 4 days (12-15 August 2017) to South West of France in Biarritz, Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Cap-Breton for a great informative anti-drug campaign The Truth About Drugs. They distributed no less than 12,600 booklets shared between public, in the streets or a the beach, being either parents, teachers, passersby, in a police station, in a camping, in an hotel or among 481 shops for their clients. More than 180 positive responses were gotten such as: A teacher working in a high school took booklets for the documentation inside the school. Another teacher took 50 booklets for his students. The drug problem in Europe- A solution...

 The non-profit NGO Foundation for a Drug-Free Europe (FDFE) established in 2004 is working with a hundred of Say No To Drugs (SNTD) associations of volunteers through Europe. They are using the informative and educative materials of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World with the purpose of empowering youth and adults with factual information about drugs so they can make informed decisions to be drug free. The last 2017 Reports from UNODC and EMCDDA again gave alarming data on increasing drug consumption in Europe with more than 7500 deaths by overdoses. A clever use of semantic by the marketing with words such as “soft drugs » or “recreational drugs” abused the youth, making the drug use sounds as fun and harmless.
