Enforce the law before saying it doesn’t work!  This is the position of the Association Say No to Drugs – Geneva. Prevention is the first of the four pillars clearly set out in the Narcotic Drugs Act (LStup)*.   It is precisely on prevention that the association Say No to Drugs – Geneva has been working for about twenty years. To strengthen its action, it is launching a one-month poster and brochure distribution campaign on May 8, 2019, using the Geneva Transports (TPGs) as a support. In March 2018 in Switzerland was accepted the « legal cannabis »with maximum 1% THC . In October 2018 in Canada was legalized the use and the selling of cannabis as being a responsible and fair policy act to prevent the black market * which, by the way, has already organized parallel markets! The sad point is that this legalization was done despite several Canadian medical body warnings. Indeed, a large percentage of suicide attempts among young people in their twenties are related to cannabis use, says the University of Montreal. To celebrate our style the 4/20 or 420 (20th of April)*, our European Say No To Drugs Teams decided to inform at large the population of their main cities about the harmful effects that drug use (and not only abuse !) represents for Health, and worst when this is concerning youngster. 36th Vienna City Marathon

On April 7th in Vienna, the capital of Austria renowned both artistically and intellectually, was held the 36th Annual Vienna City Marathon covering the classic distance of 42.195 Km. Needless to say that “a marathon is a huge, attractive challenge, a highlight for thousands of amateur athletes”. We are in London with the Truth About Drugs United Kingdom Team (TAD UK). London, the capital and largest city of England and United Kingdom is located on the River Thames. At a time UK has been reached by the European wave of drugs and their related problems, the TAD UK Team decided to do a drug prevention education starting in London to raise the awareness of the youth, the most vulnerable, and also to provide data to the adults and parents so they can talk with their children and take an informed decision regarding the use of drugs.
