Early in November the leader of the Say No To Drugs association of Czech Republic, Lukas, is in the city of Jihlava which lies on the same named river and located at some 112 kms from Prague. The historical centre of Jihlava, with its old momunments is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With the support of the city Head of prevention activities and the cooperation of the city officials, Lukas was able in 2 days to deliver 6 drug prevention lectures in 4 schools.
Thus Lukas was able to educate no less than 330 children of basic schools on the harming effects of drug use. The lectures were very interactive and the children highly interested, either to discover what the drugs are or to get the “not said” data on their effects. Many relevant questions from the young auditoire were answered to the satisfaction of the youth as evidenced in their feedbacks.
Many originated that they have learned many data, that they will stay away from the drugs. And some 1320 booklets The Truth About Drugs were distributed to the youth to keep track of the data/facts.
With the agreement of the city officials, the purpose of Lukas is to get this drug prevention lecture done in all the schools of the city. So an appointment was taken for the next month. The final product will be all the youth of the city educated on the drug subject, empowered with right data and protected from the drug use.
