When some governments are looking to decriminalize and legalize the use of recreational cannabis despite the International Drug Control Conventions (1961,1971, 1988 and the CRC) wisely laid down to protect the health and welfare of the youth and mankind, the U.N. International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is the  right time to seriously consider the current trend of the drug problem and draw the right conclusion. 1. Worldwide, according to the latest 2019 World Drug Report released by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in 2017 an estimated 271 million people (5.5 % of the global population) aged 15-64, had used drugs in the previous year. Enforce the law before saying it doesn’t work!  This is the position of the Association Say No to Drugs – Geneva. Prevention is the first of the four pillars clearly set out in the Narcotic Drugs Act (LStup)*.   It is precisely on prevention that the association Say No to Drugs – Geneva has been working for about twenty years. To strengthen its action, it is launching a one-month poster and brochure distribution campaign on May 8, 2019, using the Geneva Transports (TPGs) as a support. Inside the vehicles: spots and displays filled with brochures. Outside: posters. With, for those who feel concerned, all the information and access contact to the association’s website.
