The FDFE Representative attended the 2nd Asia Pacific Forum Against Drugs, held in Singapore on 6 October 2017 and gathering about 200 delegates of like-minded organizations. Here after a Summary.    ASIA-PACIFIC FORUM AGAINST DRUGS 2017 « Together, A Drug-Free World for our Children” The National Council Against Drug Abuse (NCADA) of Singapore organised the 2nd Asia-Pacific Forum Against Drugs (APFAD). The event brought together local and foreign delegates from government agencies, non-government organisations (NGOs) and civil society groups, to network and discuss how to better counter the continuing global calls for drug liberalization and the lobbying of pro-drug groups. 2. Say No To Drugs Belgium at the July Sfinks Festival...

The team of volunteers, on 29 and 30 July, held a drug prevention booth at the annual famous Sfinks Mixed Festival gathering no less than 96,000 people from all the ways of life. The volunteers were distributing The Truth About Drugs booklets and videos informing on the harmful effects of the 14 most used drugs*. This year in different festivals, throughout Belgium, the police successfully raised the drug protection level by checking for drug dealers and users. Indeed the youth not provided with enough data on the harming effects of the drugs are more easily fooled on the reality of drugs, including for alcohol and cannabis. Drug-Free Valencia on air

Alfredo Riano, Educator in Prevention  of the association Valencia Sin Drogas,   has a great record of lectures, seminars and is also doing interviews and talk shows for Radios and TVs in his area. 26 June: Lausanne in action for the U.N. International Day Against Drugs...

The 14 volunteers of the Say No To Drugs Lausanne were very active to celebrate the U.N. International Day Against Drugs Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. 26 June, a date chosen since 1988 to commemorate the dismantling of the opium  trade in China,  leading to the First Opium War. Aware that too many youth, parents and people had never been really informed on the harmful effects of the drugs on health, memory and skills, they decided to increase their  action.  With their booklets The Truth About Drugs 9 volunteers of the association went to the train station of Fribourg (in the French part of Switzerland) where they handed out no less than 1200 educative booklets on the 14 drugs the most used, including cannabis, alcohol and prescription drugs. OSCE* Conference 10-11 July 2017...

Nexus Between Illicit Drugs, Organized Crime and Terrorism The FDFE representatives from Brussels and Vienna attended the 2017 OSCE-wide Conference on Combating the Threats of Illicit Drugs and the Diversion of Chemical Precursors held in the “Neuer Saal” of the Hofburg, former Imperial palace, in Vienna (Austria). About 54 States Delegations, Partners for Co-operation, and 28 International Organizations, Academic and Business Circles and Non-Governmental Organizations were participating together with Members of the OSCE Secretariat and OSCE Institutions to the 3 sessions, with the following themes: 1. Links Between Illicit Drug Trafficking, Organized Crime and Terrorism; 2. Illicit Drugs as a Source of Financing Illicit Activities; 3. Cross-Cutting Issues. FDFE intervened in the third Session.
