The Say No To Drug Team of Belgium (SNTD) was invited to participate to the 3rd Youth Fair of Dour. The purpose was to have a family, educative, constructive and playful day gathering altogether children, teens and parents. No less than 10 organizations and associations were represented with booths dedicated to Education, Work, Fashion and also Police, Defense and Firefighters. All were proposing different animations.

The SNTD booth had also its success not only with the youngsters but also with the parents trying the two special glasses mimicking the behavior of a person under alcoholic beverage influence and another one who has smoked cannabis…

As a result, beside the 525 booklets The Truth About Drugs and 18 educative and documentary DVDs, seven Education Packages* were ordered by associations. A Scout group also ordered its own package to make prevention lectures to its young members and protect them from the harmful effects of drug use. Even a personnel from an hospital had the good idea to get the series of posters on the drugs to raise the awareness of the public meanwhile they are in the waiting room and in the Emergency Services. It was very interesting to see how the educators, parents and youth were interested to find out more on the drugs.

(*) The Educator Package includes: An Educator’s Guide with a full semester of lesson plans, a Documentary DVD: Real People, Real Stories, 17 Video clips: They Said, They Lied, 24 sets of the series The Truth About Drugs(14 booklets), and a series of posters.
