Let us use this opportunity to reflect on an all so important obstacle that inhibits the well-being and possibly the very future survival of our societies: Drugs. On 3-4 June 2019 in the famous palace Hofbug in Vienna (Austria) was held, under the Chairmanship of Slovakia, the 2019 OSCE-wide Conference on Combating the Threats of Illicit Drugs and the Diversion of Chemical Precursors. The topic was: Evolving Threat of Synthetic Drugs: from Addiction to Rehabilitation and Reintegration. Some 113 Ministers, Ambassadors, Representatives of world Governments, the Holy See,* International Agencies such as UNODC*, INCB*, EUROPOL*, DEA*,OSCE, SELEC*, the European Union,* were attending including a few selected NGOs among which FDFE. FDFE was invited to deliver a presentation about the importance of prevention to combat the drug problem. No « Pot » in France

In March 2018 in Switzerland was accepted the « legal cannabis »with maximum 1% THC . In October 2018 in Canada was legalized the use and the selling of cannabis as being a responsible and fair policy act to prevent the black market * which, by the way, has already organized parallel markets! The sad point is that this legalization was done despite several Canadian medical body warnings. Indeed, a large percentage of suicide attempts among young people in their twenties are related to cannabis use, says the University of Montreal. In addition, these legalizations are in violation of the three International Drug Control Conventions** according UNODC and INCB (2019). The City of Music Drug Free

On March 16th the Austrian Sag Nein Zu Drogen Sag Ya Zum Leben Team set up their turquoise tent and booth in the Vienna famous and busy pedestrian street Mariahilfer Strasse near the MuseumsQuartier. They did a great distribution of the booklets The Truth About Drugs to the passersby. Indeed, more than 1200 booklets, as well as several info packs, were handed out by the volunteers of the association to the public.
