CRC art. 33, Drug Prevention and Children...

There were a full room of public attending the side event, about 50 people from different ways of life but all concerned by the human rights, including the protection of the children by the States versus drug use, which is the objective of the article 33 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989). The Moderator in the introduction gave a short overview of the devastating effects created by the drugs and focused on the cannabis which is the entrance gate to the drug use for the youth. FDFE at OSCE*

On 3-4 June 2019 in the famous palace Hofbug in Vienna (Austria) was held, under the Chairmanship of Slovakia, the 2019 OSCE-wide Conference on Combating the Threats of Illicit Drugs and the Diversion of Chemical Precursors. The topic was: Evolving Threat of Synthetic Drugs: from Addiction to Rehabilitation and Reintegration. Some 113 Ministers, Ambassadors, Representatives of world Governments, the Holy See,* International Agencies such as UNODC*, INCB*, EUROPOL*, DEA*,OSCE, SELEC*, the European Union,* were attending including a few selected NGOs among which FDFE. FDFE was invited to deliver a presentation about the importance of prevention to combat the drug problem. FDFE Commitment to UDHR

On 10 December 2018, FDFE participated to the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in the Palace of Nations of the United Nations in Geneva. The Conference was organized by CAP LC* and Fundacion VIDA* with the support of the: -Permanent Representation of Estonia to the UN and other International Organisations in Geneva, -Permanent Mission of Finland in Geneva, -Republic of Philippines Permanent Mission to the United Nations Geneva, -Permanent Mission of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations Office and other International Organisations in Geneva.
