The 1st “Swiss Tour” was held in Locarno: a motorcycle tour sponsored by the municipality of Locarno, with the support of the Garage Auto NEC and co-organized by the MC Revolution Biker Club and the Ticino La Verita sulla Droga Team. Locarno is a renown Swiss town in the canton of Ticino. The town is located south of the Alps, on the shores of the Lake Maggiore.
Thus the event took place and started on the most prestigious place in Locarno: on the famous Piazza Grande. In Summer in Locarno are held numerous Summer Concerts as well as the Locarno International Film Festival, founded in 1946, the oldest in the world after Venice.
The bikers toured through the 4 passes of the Alps, to bring the message of living without drugs to the whole Ticino.
This gave the Dico No alla Droga Team the possibility to make a nice outflow with their booth in a clearly visible position. Indeed, with the booth set-up on the Piazza Grande while Mauro Bocchini’s band was playing on the stage made this place an ideal location to forward the message of a drug-free world, gathering the motobikers on the street, the volunteers on the lake front distributing brochures The Truth About Drugs, and in the shops and restaurants the brochures left on the counter. And with in addition, the band that announced the message of better living a drug free life.
Altogether, 1600 brochures were distributed, a press release gotten in the newspaper and an interview on the radio completed this 1st Swiss Tour drug prevention information activity!
