Madrid: A Drug Prevention Education Premiere

They were 208 soldiers including representatives of the whole hierarchy, Colonel, Commandants, Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants, joining the troop to attend the lecture on drug done in the Spanish Army Artillery Regiment premises in Madrid.

The one hour and a half lecture was delivered by Alfredo the CEO of the association Valencia Sin Drogas.

Alfredo started to explain what are drugs (including alcohol and psychotropic drugs), how they work and why the drugs are dangerous and harming the person: body, mind thus degrading the personality and generating mental disorders. The stress was put on marijuana, being the most often the entrance door to the other drugs.This was an interactive lecture with the participation of some soldiers for demonstrations.

The lecture ended by a Questions/Answers Time that was used to clarify some points about the drugs.

All the attendees received the booklet The Truth About Drugs and were asked to be Ambassadors and forward the drug prevention message to their relatives, friends and around them, complying with the UNODC: Let’s Develop our lives, our communities, our identities Without Drugs.
