To celebrate the World Health Day, the volunteers of Say No To Drugs Belgium went to the city Charleroi in the Walloon Region of Belgium. They set up their booth close to “Place Vert” (Green Place) to Inform the youngsters but also the passerbys on the harmful effects of drugs and to provide them with the correct data, before they are contacted by the dealers.
This Day, in total they distributed 2600 information booklets “The Truth About Drugs” to passer-bys and to more than 80 shopkeepers.
Citizens are really conscient on the fact that something needs to be done about the drug situation in their city. Educators visiting the booth were happy to discover the Educator Kit and were pleased that the association provides this tool for free. 80 persons including youngsters were eager to sign the Pledge for Living a Drug Free Life!
The information provided on the ten most used drugs was aimed at raising the awareneness of the youth and people about the harmful effects of drugs.
These information actions were continued during the whole week.Thus, altogether 7900 booklets were distributed to the public, to the Community leaders and also to teachers. All were very grateful for the documents gotten.
