News from the Middle East

Let’s pay a visit to our colleagues in this new city (created in 1909) on the Mediterranean Sea with kilometers of sand beaches, thousand Bauhaus’style buildings for the modernity of the “White Town”, the numerous museums such as the Diaspora, Eretz and Art Museums, all adjacent to the antique (as far as 12th century) and traditional area including the Carmel Market, and the Jaffa harbor.

This is in Tel Aviv (“Hill Spring” in Hebrew, inspired from the Theodor Herzl’s “Old New Land” novel-1902) that in a nice day of June we found our 26 volunteers of the No To Drugs Team.
All along from Jaffa towards the Tel Aviv promenade they were distributing the drug educative booklets The Truth About Drugs to the passers-by. This is all the more important that according the Taub Center, Israel is on the verge of an opioid epidemic (in Times of Israel-30 April 2023).

In addition, on the Promenade on the beach, to support their action they gave to the public an appreciated artistic performance with guitar and songs.
This drug prevention activity with 1370 booklets distributed this day has been greatly fostered by the public: “You guys are doing a holy job” or “this is so important”. Indeed!

Thank you for reading and support
