LIGHT CANNABIS BECOMES A NARCOTIC – WITH THE MINISTER’S DECREE IT IS A DRUG 23 Oct 2020 11:21 – editorial staff

Specifically, it is the cannabidiol (Cbd), contained in the so-called “light cannabis” that changes from a chemical to a drug because it becomes an experimental drug. The decree of Health Minister Roberto Speranza was published in the Official Gazette last Thursday and will therefore soon be effective.

As a result, any composition containing cannabidiol is now a product that can no longer be sold freely as it was until now, since they become pharmaceutical products and can only be sold if they are licensed. The transition into the category of drugs was necessary because recently the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) received a request for authorization to market a cannabidiol-based drug to be used as “compassionate care for patients treated with Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, two serious forms of childhood epilepsy.

Consequently, any product containing cannabidiol, an active substance also contained in light cannabis freely marketed in stores throughout the country, can no longer be sold without a license. On the free sale and use of light cannabis, there have always been heated debates among political forces, among the supporters of prohibition and legalization, among educators of rehabilitation communities for drug addicts, against legalization and those who claim that “cannabis is a herb” and therefore harmless.

Now even the decree of the Ministry of Health and the passage to the drug category of the active ingredient of cannabis shows that this substance is not so harmless and you can use it at will every moment when you feel “a little down” or want to have a laugh with friends. For volunteers at the Drug-Free World Foundation and the Church of Scientology, it is confirmation of what they have been repeating for years as a mantra: Drugs are drugs in all their forms. Any substance that, when injected into the body, is capable of altering mental capacity is a drug for all intents and purposes. There are no ‘soft’ or ‘hard’ drugs.

We certainly cannot assimilate a joint to a cocaine sniff or a dose of heroin, but what is certain is that smoking a joint also somehow causes an alteration in the mind and if we want to be the ones to run our lives, we must always be alert and lucid. Drugs in all their forms are a danger to our children and, as the philosopher L. Ron Hubbard wrote, “it is the most destructive element in our present culture.

To counteract the culture of drug-induced death and promote the message of living a drug-free life, volunteers from Drug-Free World and the Church of Scientology will once again this week distribute hundreds of booklets with the Truth about Drugs in Cagliari, Via Scano on Thursday, October 22, in the streets of downtown Nuoro on Friday, October 23 and in Olbia on Tuesday, October 27 in the Bandinu district.
