Two representatives of FDFE, Robert and Christian, were invited in Kharkiv (City founded in 1654, the former capital of Ukraine, the second-largest city and a major cultural, scientific, educational, transport and industrial center of Ukraine ) to do a series of lectures to enlighten the audience on the reality of the drugs .
On November 13th, Robert did a presentation on the harmfulness of drugs at the Institute of Neurology, Psychiatry and Narcology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine in front of 150 professors, doctors, nurses and medical students. This was very successful and this ended up by a distribution of the booklet The Truth About Drugs in Ukrainian, that was appreciated.
On November 14th, the two FDFE Representatives were part of a two days conference (14-15 November) with some 29 speakers organized by the: Institute for Children and Adolescents Health Care of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. Kharkiv National University VN Karazina, Kharkiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, The General Program was: Scientific and practical conference with international participation. Actual issues of physiology, pathology and organization of medical provision for children and adolescents. Forecasting formation of chronic somatic and mental pathology.
The FDFE Representatives intervened during the Second plenary session held in the large conference room with some 150 high level participants. The title of their presentation was: 1) Christian: Protecting Youth Future by Education and Prevention Initiative; 2) Robert: Therapeutic Cannabis, Low THC Cannabis, CBD, Cannabinoids,… What Should We Think About That?
This was well received by the attendees all related with the medical aspect, care and protection to provide to the youth. There were also speakers concerned by the research in this field as well from Crime enforcement and Internal Affairs. Our educative materials were made available to the attendees.
The FDFE Representatives, this same day attended a presentation made by two students of a Gymnasium on the importance of drug prevention and education for the protection of the youth.
On November 15th, the FDFE Representative Christian went to deliver a lecture, in English, in another Gymnasium to students of 16-17 y.o. The title was “Deadly Ignorance”. This was made in an interactive way with the purpose to raise the students’ awareness on the drug use dangers including the cannabis.
Whether in the Institutions or in the Gymnasia, the Representatives were impressed by the quality of the welcome they received from the Directors and audiences.
