It’s under the lead of Lukas that we found Jan, Jessica, Petra, Tomas and Veronika, the enthusiastic volunteer lecturers of the association Rekni NE Drogam (Say No To Drugs), spreading the truth about drugs, what they are and what they do, among the youths of the country. Thus:

-On October 4th in Ceske Budejovice, a medieval town (and famous for its Budweiser Budvar beer) in the South Bohemia, at the confluence of the Vltava and Molse Rivers , 3 lectures were done for the first time. The contacts were established following the traditional annual Summer Cyclo-Run through the country organized by the association. Some 80 children of the 8th grade were attending the lectures and 150 booklets from the series The Thruth About Drugs were distributed.

-On October 6-10th, as each year, the volunteers were in in the town Trinec, in the Moravian-Silesian Region, notable for the Třinec Iron and Steel Works plant. There, 15 drug prevention lectures were delivered in 8 schools to no less than 380 students of 8th grade and 890 booklets were distributed. An appointment had been taken for the next year!

-Also, on October 6-10th, in Brno at the confluence of the Svitava and Svratka rivers, the cultural hub of the South Moravian Region with the Mendel* University among famous others, 3 lectures were done to 123 students from 7 and 8 th grade and 200 bookllets were distributed.

All the lecturers unanimously reported about the interest and the active cooperation of the youth regarding the drugs. For some this was a discovery, others had many questions that were properly answered to their satisfaction and the one of the teachers. “Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance” said Will Durant (1885-1981)!
