On this October 28, 2021, in Brussels, the association Say No To Drug Belgium (SNTD.Be) celebrated the 15 years of active drug prevention education made worldwide by the main organisation: the Foundation for a Drug-Free World, located in Los Angeles (USA).
The celebration was done in presential, in the nice premises of the Churches Of Scientology for Europe, with a limited number of attendees due to the sanitary regulations: 50 persons. Nevertheless, this was in front of an enthusiastic audience that the SNTD.Be Coordinator, Julie, reminded the importance of the
prevention and the necessity to protect the youth from the harmful and destructive effects of the psychoactive drugs. And that this could be done by using the materials (booklets, DVDs, Education Guide) generously provided by the Foundation.
This was also the opportunity for the Coordinator to do a retrospective of the main prevention actions the association did in Belgium along the past years but also of the participation at international events such as at the Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna (Austria) and in Karkiv (Ukraine) together with the partner Foundation for a Drug-Free Europe.
This was the right time to acknowledge the participation of the volunteers of the association and all the other groups and associations’ leaders co-operating with SNTD.Be in drug this drug prevention field.
The audience had also the pleasure to appreciate a charming accordeon player and the magic tricks from an amazing magician.
And of course, the celebration ended up by the traditional song, an impressive cake and with an (alcohol-free) toast for the future!
The SNTD.Be Coordinator was invited to do interviews for 2 TV online. And among the many congratulations she received for the work and the persistance, a leader of an association of prevention and health promotion stated that this celebration event has reinforced his willingness to continue his drug protection actions with the youth and more than ever to raise their awareness on what drugs really are and do. And for the next future, teachers were interested to have a drug prevention lecture done to their class.
