Drug Education in France

As since several years the Say No To Drugs France association located in Paris has been invited by the City Hall of a nearby department to do a drug prevention presentation to young students. This was done in the frame of a “Forum on Addiction”, to educate the youth on the harmful effects of drug use.

Catherine, Nadine and Patrick from 9 am to 5 pm had to deal with 11 groups of 15 students from 4 different colleges. They had half an hour to transmit to each group the key data about the reality of the harming effects of the drugs. The Team shared the time in a quarter of an hour with academic/scientific data and the next quarter was devoted to a scenario with special glasses that simulate the effect of alcohol or cannabis on the behavior.

According their final reports, the students were glad for the data received, many signed the petition as Ambassadors for a Drug-Free France and they had available the famous booklets from The Truth About Drugs series. These latter educative materials were also of interest to teachers and nurse for further use.
