Themovement Together for aDrug-FreeHungary annually holds the nation’s biggest anti-drug
eventwith theirMarathon for aDrug-FreeHungary, crossing the19 counties of the countryover
a 42-day and 2100 kilometer long run, bringing the message to the population that the drug
problemcanbe solved.
For the tenth anniversary of themarathon in 2011, the core team of 20 participantswas joined
by 20,600 runners along the route. More than 95,000 youth and adults joined the program and
embraced itspurpose,while27,500children took thepledge to leadadrug-free life.
The organizing teamof the tenthMarathonwas joined in their efforts bymore than a thousand
teachers, hundredsof policemenandmembersof thecivil guards, artists and sports figures.
This ishowawholemovementworks towardsachieving thecommongoalof creatingadrug-free
Hungary.
